The Solution

To solve this challenge, I integrated directly into MightyGiant’s creative process, aligning with their workflow and communication style so the project could move forward without disruption. Starting from a solid brief, I created mood boards, sourced 3D assets, built out the environment, and iterated with their team to ensure creative consistency.

By taking ownership of each stage, from look development through to final compositing, I freed up their in-house team while maintaining the studio’s high standard of quality. This not only kept the project on schedule but also gave MightyGiant the confidence that their client would receive a polished result without stretching their internal resources.

The Challenge

MightyGiant are an experienced motion design studio with a talented in-house team. In this case, however, the studio was already managing a heavy workload and needed to deliver a client project without adding extra pressure to their team. They required someone who could integrate seamlessly into their workflow while also bringing the expertise to take the project from brief through 3D production and on to the final composite. I took ownership of the animation process, ensuring the designs were translated into a fluid, engaging sequence. It was a rewarding project that allowed me to focus on the finer details of the motion and deliver a final film that brought the client’s vision to life.

The Process

I began by creating mood boards that captured both the architectural style of the rooms and the furnishings that would bring them to life. Once approved, I sourced a wide selection of 3D furniture models from online libraries to speed up production while keeping the design consistent with the chosen style.

From there, I built a rough model of the room and blocked out the furniture layout. After feedback and approval, I refined the space by adding architectural detail, applying textures, and setting up lighting to achieve the right atmosphere.

Finally, I created the garden environment visible through the windows. This was achieved by compositing a wide panoramic image in Photoshop from a collection of stock photos, which I then projected onto the perimeter of the 3D garden. The result was a convincing outdoor view that added depth and realism to the interiors without requiring heavy modeling.

The Results

The project was delivered smoothly and on schedule, resulting in a polished TV commercial that both MightyGiant and their client were delighted with. By fitting seamlessly into the studio’s workflow and taking ownership of production, I eased the pressure on their team while achieving the aspirational ArchViz style they were aiming for.

Clear communication and regular updates made the process straightforward, while attention to detail in 3D design elevated the final art direction. The outcome was an advert their client was proud of and a collaboration the MightyGiant team described as smooth, effective, and stress-free.

“The process couldn't have been smoother. Easily fitting into our workflow and processes whilst adapting to schedule requests, he made the project work seamlessly.”
